Claiming My Seat on the Sonship

Stepping Into My Magnitude

“The term Sonship, or Son of God in the Course is used in two ways: to denote the states of reality and illusion. In Heaven, Sonship refers to God’s one creation…totally unified and at one with Himself and with His Creator.”  – A Course In Miracles

Mindset is EVERYTHING. Though, I have been a serious daily student of A Course in Miracles over the past year, there are still days where I wake up feeling not too hot. Those are the days I remember I have a choice and I choose again.

Studying the course has helped me to peel back the layers of illusion, which often cloud my mind, impair decision-making, encourage flying off the handle, or leave me comparing and despairing. Yet, I catch myself and realize that I just took a quick detour to ‘egoland’ and I can choose again. In choosing again, the correction is made.

I often compare ‘egoland’ to a song on the radio. We all know there are days when that one song comes on that really brings us back to a particular romance or heartache. We know too well that we can choose to listen, and some days this feels so good, as we need to go back to those places to remember where we came from and what we endured. And then, there are other days when we simply change the channel.

‘Egoland’ is the same thing, we can decide to keep it moving. Here are some of my personal ways of steering my vessel back to the Sonship:

  • Walk, dance, move, breath = Movement is medicine
  • JOURNAL, JOURNAL, JOURNAL (yes, sometimes three times a day!)
  • Spiritual Work – i.e. meditation, yoga, ACIM Daily Lesson, etc.
  • Invest in yourself through self-care: hair/face masks, nail polish, essential oils, decluttering/new clothing, healthy meals, etc.
  • When all else fails, call a trusted advisor!

We all get unbalanced and it is up to us to bring it back home. Inner work benefits all of humanity and in doing this ‘work’ my intention or ‘soul purpose’ became crystal clear: To help others peel back the layers of illusion to bring them back home to themselves.

If you, or someone you know, is struggling with anxiety, depression, or in a state of despair, reach out today. There is a better way, you just have to want it.
